Click Here For Old Writings [ Jay - fuck you dropout ] [ Jay - mafia rules ] Jay - fuck you dropout [ back to top ] im a dropout of the "fuck you" movement. its nothing i want a part of. the "fuck you song" ideology is a counterproductive brick wall that we constantly bounce our frustrations off of to throw back at each other. i don’t feel any better about myself when i blame you for something. i just spread the plague of negativity that is deadly in punk. we are a group of people trying to grow as we age, but instead we just attack each other without cause. walking all over me will make me walk all over you, but what is the point of that?!?! no movement. no progress. only bad vibes, and an ostracizing excuse to leave. but nonetheless, we go on as lemmings, bumping into each other’s walls and talking shit endlessly. so here is my final "fuck you", to the negativity that surrounds my life and pins me down way too often. a "fuck you" to all the name-calling, nit picking, and heavy criticisms that are a burden over my/our head(s). fuck you bad feelings. you almost got me there. Jay - mafia rules [ back to top ] The makeshift poster on the wall read "Punk rock is like the mafia. Once your in, your in for life." I whole-heartedly agreed with the statement, but I think there were too many lines of fine print cut out of it. I couldn’t find the line that says that its only ok to do something against punk’s regular flow of things when you’re a "big name." I couldn’t find the line that said the moment you want to do something new, the punk rock mafia will stop you in your tracks, and burn "sellout" into your forehead. And what happened to the line that states that there is no such thing as "just not feeling it today?" This bold black line that is punk rock really needs to thin down if it wants to go anywhere. Maybe I’m naive, but revolt does require new change, right? |
